Belarus, Russia build joint satellite group — Lukashenko

According to the Belarusian president, the special military operation in Ukraine proved that such satellite group is necessary

VLADIVOSTOK, April 13. /TASS/. Belarus and Russia are working on creating a joint satellite group, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said during the meeting with Primorsky Region Governor Oleg Kozhemyako Wednesday.

"We produce remote Earth probing hardware, and put it on the Russian platform; all these IT programs, support - we do it all. We build this satellite group; it is already called Belarusian-Russian. Communication satellites, six of them," the head of state said.

"If we need a remote probing spacecraft - we discussed it yesterday in minute details with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin - then we build one of the best in the world. Its resolution is 35 cm. We can see a match box, we see it all," Lukashenko noted.

According to the Belarusian president, the special military operation in Ukraine proved that such satellite group is necessary.

"Why? Well okay, I’ll say it. Why do the Ukrainians fights successfully at times? Because the Americans have concentrated their reconnaissance remote probing satellite group above us, and they see everything. They relay the information in real time to assault groups that roam around our home front, and attack Russian forces not head on, where fights should happen on the battlefields, but from flanks or from the rear," the Belarusian president said.
