Sanya holds first Hainan International Art Expo and Auction

The event will last through February 6

HAIKOU /China/, January 29. /TASS/. The resort city of Sanya on the southern coast of Hainan Island has opened Hainan International Art Expo and Auction. According to organizers, the event will last through February 6.

It is under the guidance of the Publicity Department of CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, the Hainan Department of Tourism, Culture, Broadcasting and Sports, the Sanya administration and state-owned conglomerate China Poly Group. The exhibition was organized with the participation of the Sanya Central Business District Office.

Antique Chinese paintings and calligraphy, modern art masterpieces, antiques, jewelry and luxury goods, and prestigious alcohol will all be reportedly sold to the public. The auction features a total of more than 800 cultural treasures.

It is being held under the slogan "A Tiger's New Leap - The Future of Art." It is expected that the exhibition will attract the attention of both older and younger generations and will strengthen the continuity of national traditions.

Exhibition activity is one of the dynamically developing areas of Hainan's economy. According to the forecast of the Department of Commerce of the region, the scale of this industry in the province will continue to grow and by 2025 its income will exceed 60 billion yuan ($ 9.4 billion). The department estimates that the growth rate of this indicator will be about 12%.
