PYONGYANG, September 24. /TASS/. On September 22, North Korea carried out a test launch of a guided rocket for an upgraded 240-mm multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), the KCNA news agency reported.

Go Byeong-hyun, chairman of North Korea’s Second Economic Committee, oversaw the military maneuvers, conducted as part of a plan to modernize the country’s artillery and missile forces in line with the five-year national defense development plan.

The upgraded 240-mm MLRS guided rocket is equipped with a self-guided precision system and has a range of 100 km (in ballistic flight) and 115 km (in combined glide flight).
