TEHRAN, June 24. /TASS/. Iran is ready to enter into security agreements with Persian Gulf nations, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said.
"As Iran has a special interest in Muslim countries, particularly those in the region, including the Persian Gulf nations, it is ready to make agreements with them in the field of security, reinforced by sustainable economic cooperation," he said during a session of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states in Baku, Azerbaijan. "This will make it possible to defend them against common enemies and make their territories safe for all investors," Ghalibaf added.
The Iranian official emphasized that the future of the Muslim world should not be shaped "based on destructive competition but on cooperation, economic integration," and "continued political dialogue."
He also reiterated Tehran's demand for the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Middle Eastern countries.
