Dragging Europe into conflict with Russia fraught with World War III — Slovak lawmaker

When asked whether he thought Europe might seriously escalate the situation, Deputy Speaker Tibor Gaspar said: "I hope not"

MOSCOW, May 5. /TASS/. Slovak National Council (parliament) Deputy Speaker Tibor Gaspar has warned of the danger of World War III due to attempts to drag European countries into a war with Russia.

"Now European countries have become active after [US] President [Donald Trump] said that it is no longer worth supporting the conflict in Ukraine either economically or politically," the politician said in an interview with TASS. "And immediately some European countries, for example, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, started thinking about what will happen next. I see this as an attempt to draw European countries into a war against Russia, but I want to believe that this will not happen, because it would lead to World War III," Gaspar said.

When asked whether he thought Europe might seriously escalate the situation, the senior lawmaker said: "I hope not.".
