TEL AVIV, March 24. /TASS/. Israeli servicemen have eliminated two commanders of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, the army press service reported.
According to it, over the past few days, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israel Security Agency (ISA) have struck terrorist sites and militants throughout the Gaza Strip in order to weaken Hamas' military capabilities and eliminate threats to the country and its servicemen. Ahmed Shimali, deputy commander of the Gaza Brigade, was killed in the bombings, the press office said in a statement. "Shimali was responsible for operations, planning the offensive strategy, and building the brigade's force in preparation for Hamas's brutal massacre on October 7," the statement said.
The Israeli servicemen also eliminated the commander of Hamas' Shejaiya Battalion, Jamil Wadiya. "For most of the war, Wadiya led the battalion after replacing the terrorist Wessam Farhat, who was eliminated in December 2023," the army pointed out. Wadiya was involved in an anti-tank missile attack on a school bus in April 2011 that killed a 16-year-old, the statement added.
"The IDF and ISA will continue to operate against the Hamas terrorist organizations in order to eliminate any threat posed to the State of Israel," the army press office emphasized.
