Houthis report strike on Ben Gurion airport, US vessels in Red Sea

Following the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the Gaza Strip, the Ansar Allah movement said it would strike Israeli territory

DUBAI, March 22. /TASS/. Yemen's Houthis from the Ansar Allah movement have struck Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, as well as ships from the US aircraft carrier group led by the USS Harry Truman, Al Masirah reported, citing a statement from the Houthi-formed armed forces.

"We attacked Ben Gurion Airport in the occupied neighborhood of Jaffa (meaning Tel Aviv - TASS) with a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile. We warn all airlines that Ben Gurion Airport is now unsafe for air traffic and will remain so. The Air Force carried out an operation targeting several warships associated with the US aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman," the report said.

Following the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the Gaza Strip, the Ansar Allah movement said it would strike Israeli territory and prevent ships associated with Israel from passing through the waters of the Red Sea and the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait until the operation in the Palestinian enclave was halted. The Houthis have attacked dozens of civilian ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden since November 2023.

After a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas came into effect in the Gaza Strip, the Yemeni rebels suspended strikes on Israel but following the breakdown of the ceasefire, the Houthis resumed attacks on ships associated with Israel.
