CAIRO, March 18. /TASS/. Abu Hamza, a spokesman for the Palestinian radical organization Islamic Jihad’s militant wing, the Saraya al-Quds group, has been killed in an Israeli strike on the Gaza Strip, the Al Hadath television channel reported.
According to its sources, Israel hit the house where Abu Hamza and his family were staying. No further details were given.
Meanwhile, the Al Arabiya television channel reported that another Saraya al-Quds senior official, Hasan Al Na’im, died after Israel’s strike on the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. The channel’s sources said that Al Na’im was commander of the group’s missile unit.
Islamic Jihad has not yet commented on these reports.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on March 18 that a series of strikes had been delivered on Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office motivated this move by Hamas’ rejection of the proposals advanced after the talks with US envoy Steve Witkoff. According to the latest data provided by Gaza’s health ministry, the death toll from the new spiral of escalation has exceeded 400, while more than 560 people have been injured.
