ANKARA, February 18. /TASS/. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stated that his country is prepared to facilitate a resolution of the crisis in Ukraine and serve as an ideal platform for this purpose.
"Considering the active diplomacy we have conducted over the past 13 years, engaging with all parties involved, our country will be an ideal venue for potential future negotiations among Russia, Ukraine, and the United States," Erdogan remarked at a news conference following discussions with Vladimir Zelensky.
The Turkish leader highlighted that "as a result of the communication efforts initiated since the onset of the conflict, the Black Sea grain initiative has been successfully implemented."
"Over the past three years, we have taken direct initiatives at all levels with both Russia and Ukraine. We have sincerely aimed to be a reliable mediator for both sides and have achieved tangible results. While there was a positive outcome regarding the grain corridor, it is unfortunate that the corridor could not be maintained. Approximately 30,000 tons of grain were shipped during this time, and we acted as mediators in this process. We hope to continue this collaboration in the future," Erdogan stated. He also noted that "Ukrainian grain has been, and continues to be delivered to Syria.".
