Houthis say they will strike Israel if it resumes operations in Gaza

According to Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the Yemeni rebels also support the Lebanese people and the Hezbollah movement and are ready to side with them if Israel escalates the conflict

DOHA, February 11. /TASS/. The Houthis from Yemen's rebel Ansar Allah movement will deliver more strikes on Israel if it resumes combat operations in the Gaza Strip, Ansar Allah leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi has warned.

"We have the finger on the trigger and will immediately launch an escalation with the Israeli enemy should it resume aggression against the Gaza Strip," the Houthi-controlled Al Masirah television channel quoted him as saying. "If the Zionist regime resumes escalation, it will find itself at war with all security and economic risks stemming from it, regardless of US support."

According to Al-Houthi, the Yemeni rebels also support the Lebanese people and the Hezbollah movement and are ready to side with them if Israel escalates the conflict. "Nothing can justify the further occupation of part of Lebanon," he underscored.

Following the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the Gaza Strip, the Houthis warned that they would launch strikes on Israeli territory while barring ships associated with the Jewish state from passing through the waters of the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait until Tel Aviv ceased its military operation against Palestinian radical group Hamas in the embattled enclave. Since mid-November 2023, dozens of civilian ships have been attacked by the Houthi in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
