MOSCOW, February 11. /TASS/. Kiev will face a disaster if Vladimir Zelensky refuses to fulfill US President Donald Trump’s demands that will be conveyed to him by US Vice President James David Vance and Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg, Alexander Dubinsky, an opposition member of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada (parliament), said.
"So, there will be no meeting with Trump. Instead, there’s going to be a meeting with Vance and Kellogg <...>. The greatest leader will be briefed on the conditions on which the United States is willing to continue supporting Ukraine. A refusal would mean that the issue will be handed over to Europe and a disaster will happen very soon, with the government once again trying to relocate to Lvov. Consent will pave the way for Kellogg’s visit in order to present a list of conditions that will have to be accepted. Notably, a simple ceasefire will suit no one in either Moscow or Washington," he wrote on Telegram.
The politician expects Washington to insist that Ukraine’s parliament revoke a decree banning talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and demand that a negotiating team be formed to develop a plan to resolve the crisis based on instructions from the Rada speaker.
"The fact that the instructions came from the speaker will automatically switch the focus of all the negotiation process and, consequently, shift all the authority to the speaker," the legislator concluded.
Trump said on February 11 that Kellogg planned to visit Ukraine soon. Bloomberg, in turn, reported that the US envoy would meet with European officials on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in order to work on a plan to resolve the Ukraine conflict, and would also visit a number of European capitals.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated earlier that Moscow was ready for talks on Ukraine, which would have to ensure Russia’s legitimate interests but not at the expense of the interests of others.
