MADRID, February 7. /TASS/. Spanish law enforcement agencies have detained five people in Spain’s Autonomous Community of Catalonia on suspicion of terrorist activity, the El Periodico newspaper wrote, citing police sources.
According to their information, among the detainees are two citizens of Russia, as well as one from Colombia, Belarus, and Spain. They are charged with terrorism and participation in a criminal organization. The investigators believe them to have taken actions directed "against the governments and associations’ support of Ukraine."
The detainees allegedly lived in Barcelona and worked in NATO countries. One of the detained Russians "has knowledge of computer engineering, and the other is a photographer," the paper noted.
The Spanish National Police has not yet commented on the issue.
