Syria not going to present threat to any country — foreign minister

"We’ve turned a new page and want to be a country of peace," Minister of Foreign Affairs in Syria’s transitional government Asaad Hassan al-Shibani stated

RABAT, January 22. /TASS/. The Syrian Arab Republic will not present a threat to any country in the future, Asaad Hassan al-Shibani, the minister of foreign affairs in Syria’s transitional government, said told the 55th session of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

"Syria will not present a threat to any country. We’ve turned a new page and want to be a country of peace," the Qatar-based Al Jazeera television channel quoted him as saying.

"The people of Syria have been constrained by sanctions, becoming victims in their own country. Sanctions against Syria need to be lifted. We want to rebuild our country as quickly as possible, and we do not want it to be a place that needs humanitarian aid," al-Shibani added.
