Kiev claims it has new domestically produced drone missile, tested it in combat

Meanwhile, Minister of Strategic Industries German Smetanin said that the missile is being mass-produced

MOSCOW, December 6. /TASS/. The Ukrainian authorities claim to have a new domestically produced drone missile by the name "Inferno," positing that they have already used the weapon, which can hit targets as far as 700 km away, on the battlefield. The first batch of these weapons has allegedly already been supplied to the armed forces.

"This is a Ukrainian weapon that is combat-tested. We shipped the first batch to our defense forces today," Vladimir Zelensky said on his Telegram channel.

Meanwhile, Minister of Strategic Industries German Smetanin claimed that the missile is being mass-produced. According to the minister, the first batch included several dozen units.

According to the Ukrainian media, during the missile’s presentation, it was claimed that it was already used in combat on five occasions.

Kiev regularly claims that it is developing new weapons, including missiles, but still remains completely reliant on Western-made weapons, especially missiles. Meanwhile, many experts believe that Ukraine’s "missile technologies" are based on Soviet designs. Recently, Kiev claimed that it had begun producing another drone missile named "Palyanitsa." However, Vyacheslav Smolenko, former director of the Russian industrial group with ties to Ukraine’s Yuzhmash, told TASS in an interview that the Ukrainian authorities’ claims about this missile’s specifications are exaggerated.
