TEL AVIV, November 21. /TASS/. The International Criminal Court’s (ICC) decision to issue an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant places this body "on the side of war" against the Jewish state, said Dmitri Gendelman, advisor to the Israeli Prime Minister’s office.
"Today, the ICC decided to ignore the evidence and arguments presented by Israel, effectively aligning itself with the regional war initiated by the Iranian regime against Israel," Gendelman stated on his Telegram channel.
"The ICC chose to support a campaign of total disinformation with an anti-Semitic subtext, aimed at isolating Israel from its allies and facilitating terrorist attacks against our country," the advisor argued.
This is the first official Israeli reaction to the ruling by The Hague’s court. Neither Netanyahu nor Gallant, who was dismissed earlier in November, have commented on the recent developments.
Previously, the ICC announced that arrest warrants had been issued against Netanyahu and Gallant over suspected war crimes and crimes against humanity in Palestine. According to the court’s statement, the ICC Pre-Trial Chamber unanimously rejected Israeli objections and issued two rulings.
