Investigative Committee chief slams celebrities criticizing army from abroad as traitors

"Having millions of followers on social networks and big audiences on various platforms implies certain moral responsibility," Alexander Bastrykin says

MOSCOW, February 19. /TASS/. Chief of Russia’s Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has lambasted Russian celebrities who have fled the country and are criticizing the Russian army from abroad as traitors.

"When these celebrities, who earned their wealth in Russia, including at the expense of compatriots, left Russia and began to say dismissive things about the Russian army, they cannot be called anything but traitors," he said in an interview with TASS.

He noted that these people "influence people’s cultural conscience and their values, they can encourage people to united or, on the contrary, to disunite." "Having millions of followers on social networks and big audiences on various platforms implies certain moral responsibility of the owners of such accounts for the information they share with society," he said.
