MELITOPOL, May 25. /TASS/. Civilians in Donbass and Novorossiya who have no connection to Russia’s special military operation are increasingly coming under attack by the Ukrainian armed forces, member of the Legislative Assembly of the Zaporozhye Region Stepan Kuvachev told TASS.
"The Ukrainian armed forces are again showing their inhumanity by targeting civilians. An ordinary family was attacked while on their way to pick up flowers for their daughter’s school promotion ceremony. Instead of a joyful and important day, they are now suffering from severe injuries, pain, and are fighting for lives. It is especially horrifying to find out that the victims are children and civilians who have no connection to the fighting. These kinds of attacks have no justification, and only cause pain and suffering. We are also following with alarm the events in Starobelsk, where children and teachers were targeted. When civilians suffer, it once again reveals the true nature of those behind these crimes," the lawmaker said.
In the Zaporozhye Region, the Ukrainian armed forces attacked a civilian vehicle between Veseloye and Dneprorudnoye settlements. A man and his daughter were in the vehicle at the time of the attack. Both were seriously injured.
The Ukrainian military launched drones at the academic building and dormitory of the Lugansk Pedagogical University’s Vocational College in the city of Starobelsk in the early hours of May 22. As many as 86 students aged from 14 and 18 years were inside at the time of the attack. According to the latest official reports, 21 people were killed. According to the Lugansk People’s Republic head Leonid Pasechnik, 65 children were injured.
