MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Moscow and Hanoi agreed to accelerate efforts to safeguard bilateral economic ties from the impact of unlawful Western sanctions, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference after talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Vietnam Bui Thanh Son.
"We are interested in further building up our interaction to ensure smooth and effective payments in the banking sphere. They are now impacted by unlawful Western sanctions that were introduced during the last several years," Lavrov said.
"The work of safeguarding our economic and financial ties from the harmful effect of unlawful restrictions of such kind is underway and we agreed today to speed it up, so that nobody attempts to cast a doubt and, furthermore, undermine lawful rights of Russia and Vietnam to develop cooperation in line with accords reached, in full conformity to international law," the top Russian diplomat added.
