DONETSK, March 31. /TASS/. The Ukrainian military is shelling journalists under direct orders from the Kiev regime, which, since 2014, has deliberately targeted the press, according to Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).
Speaking on the Rossiya-24 TV channel, Pushilin noted that while large "Press" markings once offered some degree of protection, they have now become a sort of danger, as Ukrainian commanders increasingly disregard them.
"Unfortunately, the way the enemy operates and the orders issued by the Ukrainian regime make such markings even more dangerous," Pushilin said.
He emphasized that military correspondents are frequently caught in strikes because their mission - to report from the battlefront - is of significant social importance.
On March 30, a crew from the Donetsk State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company came under UAV attack while working in Gorlovka. The driver and cameraman suffered concussions and are currently receiving outpatient treatment.
