MOSCOW, March 5. /TASS/. The Kremlin welcomes the adoption by the UN General Assembly of a Russian resolution on the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"Positively, how else can this be regarded," the Kremlin spokesman said. According to him, the 80th anniversary of the Victory is a very important year for Russia, "and everything related to this, of course, has a special symbolic and substantial meaning."

"And in this case, it is noteworthy that the vast majority of the world's countries support this approach," Peskov said.
