Ukraine’s army suffering huge losses in Kursk Region — Russian defense source

The Sumy Region is now becoming a theater of military operations, the defense source said

KURSK, February 24. /TASS/. The Ukrainian military command is aware that the incursion in Russia’s borderline Kursk Region has resulted in huge losses for its troops while the theater of combat operations is shifting to Ukraine’s Sumy Region, a source in Russian defense circles told TASS on Monday.

"The military command of Ukrainian nationalists has realized that the incursion in … Russian regions has only led to huge losses among manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian army’s elite units. The Sumy Region is now becoming a theater of military operations," the defense source said.

Russia’s Defense Ministry reported earlier that Russian paratroopers had liberated the settlement of Sverdlikovo in the Kursk Region and reached the border with the Sumy Region in that frontline area, pushing the Ukrainian army to the territory of Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier he was briefed that fighters of Russia’s 810th Brigade had crossed the border with Ukraine in the Kursk Region.
