Kiev regime capable of taking ‘cynical and reckless’ steps regarding Belarus — diplomat

"We are closely following the statements made by the Kiev regime’s representatives as well as the activities of the Ukrainian army in the border area with Belarus," Alexey Polishchuk said

MOSCOW, February 4. /TASS/. In light of the successful advance of the Russian troops during the special military operation, the Kiev regime is capable of taking the most cynical and reckless steps in regard to Belarus, Alexey Polishchuk, the director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Second CIS Department, told TASS on Tuesday.

"We are closely following the statements made by the Kiev regime’s representatives as well as the activities of the Ukrainian army in the border area with Belarus. We do know about provocations," the diplomat said in an interview with TASS.

"In light of the Russian forces’ successful advance the Kiev regime is capable of taking the most cynical and reckless steps," Polishchuk noted.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated earlier in the year that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky could resort to an attempt of drawing Belarus into the ongoing Ukrainian conflict.

"Such cautious statements on behalf of the president of Belarus are fully justified," Polishchuk said, commenting on Minsk's stance.
