LUGANSK, November 14. /TASS/. Russian troops have advanced near a railway close to Kupyansk in the Kharkov Region and stormed into the city’s outskirts, military expert Andrey Marochko told TASS on Thursday.
"Our guys have stormed into Kupyansk: they have advanced along a railway and entered its outskirts. According to confirmed information, quite an intense gunfight has broken out," he said.
Troops from various Russian army units are engaged in battles in the outskirts of Kupyansk, he said.
As the military expert added, "we should also not forget that Ukrainian militants are making all possible attempts to counterattack and push our guys out of positions."
Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said on November 8 that Russian troops had entrapped about 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers in two areas near Kupyansk.
