MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. Moscow is open to discussions with Washington on ways to normalize the work of the two countries’ diplomatic missions, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said in an interview with RT Arabic on Friday.
"If necessary, we will further engage with the US," he said. "We are open to discussions of ways to normalize the work of the two countries’ diplomatic missions," Ryabkov added.
The operation of Russian and US diplomatic institutions has become more complicated in recent years following "a series of expulsions" of diplomatic workers. Moscow has been highlighting the need for the US to return Russia’s seized diplomatic property, also pointing to difficulties with the funding of overseas missions in the US. Ryabkov said earlier that discussing ways to normalize the operation of the Russian and US embassies was "one of the items on the agenda."
