Russia hopes Israel won’t supply arms to Ukraine — envoy

According to Anatoly Viktorov, the Russian side is generally satisfied that "[our] Israeli partners have a balanced stance despite numerous appeals to them to supply weapons to Ukraine"

MOSCOW, January 19. /TASS/. Moscow hopes that Israel will continue its policy of refusing to supply any weapons to Ukraine, Russian Ambassador to Israel Anatoly Viktorov said on Thursday.

"For both countries it’s important for this [Israel’s] policy of refusing to deliver any arms, their components and so on to the conflict zone for Ukraine to continue," he said during a discussion on the foreign policy of Israel’s new government at the Valdai Discussion Club.

According to the envoy, the Russian side is generally satisfied that "[our] Israeli partners have a balanced stance despite numerous appeals to them to supply weapons to Ukraine." "We hope that Israel will display a wise, balanced and diplomatic approach to the Ukrainian crisis and will treat the reasons that made Russia decide to hold the current special military operation as well as its goals and tasks with due understanding," the diplomat concluded.
