Moscow furnished interested parties with evidence on dirty bomb — Russia’s envoy to UN

Polyansky said the parties that have chosen to label the information as "Russian propaganda" will continue to insist on that viewpoint "in any event"

UNITED NATIONS, October 25. /TASS/. Russia has provided evidence that Kiev is planning a dirty-bomb provocation to all parties concerned, Dmitry Polyansky, Russia’s first deputy envoy to the UN, said on Tuesday.

"We have shared it (information - TASS) with our colleagues that have the required clearance. I’d put it this way: Those who wanted to understand the reality of the threat were given every chance to do so," he said following a closed-door Security Council meeting that reviewed the dirty-bomb issue.

Polyansky said the parties that have chosen to label the information as "Russian propaganda" will continue to insist on that viewpoint "in any event."

Head of the Russian Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Forces Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov told reporters that the Russian Defense Ministry alerted its troops to be ready to act "in conditions of radioactive contamination" because it had obtained information that Kiev is preparing to detonate a dirty bomb. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has also stated there’s a dirty-bomb risk. Russia has raised the issue at the UN Security Council. Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has held telephone conversations with his counterparts in the UK, US, Turkey and France to warn about the threat from Ukraine. Washington, London and Paris have stated, however, that they don’t believe Russia.
