ASTANA, February 12. /TASS/. Trade between Moscow and Astana is flourishing, and outside observers are a little envious of this, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu said at a meeting with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
"You spoke about Russian investments in Kazakhstan - that spreads over 22,000 companies here. That is quite a lot," Shoigu said, addressing Tokayev.
"The scale of our trade turnover and joint projects is truly impressive. Not only are we impressed, but so are those who are watching from the outside. Some with envy, and others with great interest and a desire to participate," he added.
Ties between Russia and Kazakhstan "are not confined to bilateral cooperation" but also extend to the CIS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, CSTO and other multilateral formats, Shoigu noted.
