MOSCOW, February 7. /TASS/. The procurement of Russian reactors would save the Ukrainian energy system as a Ukrainian minister earlier said, CEO of the Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom Alexey Likhachev noted.
"We were witnesses to plenty of statements that Ukraine should turn away from Russian technologies, that the whole bunch of agreements was made with Western companies, with US ones, including on nuclear power plant construction," Likhachev said after the meeting with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi in Moscow.
One of Ukrainian ministers said that the purchase of Russian reactors from Bulgaria would save the Ukraine’s nuclear power sector, Likhachev noted. "Paradox is the softest word that can be said in this regard. I think it is very good advertising of Russian technologies that the procurement of Russian reactors is not development but saving for the Ukrainian energy system against all long-term declarations on transition from Russian technologies," the Rosatom CEO said.
