BRATISLAVA, February 6. /TASS/. Russian gas from Gazprom has begun to flow to Slovakia via the TurkStream, Dennik N portal reported with reference to CEO of the company - transportation system operator SPP Vojtech Ferenc.
According to Ferenc, Gazprom began to supply gas to SPP via the TurkStream pipeline on February 1. According to him, supplies will double from April. The contract with Gazprom Export runs until 2034. "We will not terminate it," Dennik N quoted Vojtech Ferenc as saying.
Dennik N also reported that SPP is creating a subsidiary in Ukraine and obtaining a license for gas transportation.
At the same time, the operator considers the next year risky, according to the portal. In the summer and autumn, the filling of the tanks with gas for the next season will begin.
On January 1, the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine to Europe was completely stopped due to Kiev's refusal to extend the agreement. Slovakia also received this gas. According to Slovak Economy Minister Denisa Sakova, Kiev will not have enough gas for its needs due to the lack of transit from Russia.
