Europe and Russia are not interested in cutting off Russian gas supplies — Novak

"We are all interested, both consumers and suppliers, in continuing this cooperation," the official stressed

MOSCOW, December 5. /TASS/. Russia is working on the issue of the form of payments for gas with European countries and Turkey after the introduction of US sanctions against Gazprombank - neither consumers nor suppliers are interested in stopping gas supplies to Europe, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters.

"We are all interested, both consumers and suppliers, in continuing this cooperation," he said.

"We are working on this issue (the form of payments with Hungary, Turkey, and other countries - consumers of Russian gas). I do not want to tell you the details, because this is a rather sensitive issue. But in general, work is in progress. The Hungarian minister came, we discussed this issue," Novak added.

Earlier, the US Treasury Department announced a new package of anti-Russian sanctions, which included dozens of individuals and legal entities. Restrictions were also imposed on Gazprombank, which had not previously been sanctioned.
