World food indices at highest level in 10 years — Putin

MOSCOW, June 30. /TASS/. World food indices are at their highest level in 10 years, said Russian President Vladimir Putin during the annual Direct Line on Wednesday.

"Today, world food indices are at the highest level in the last ten years. Unfortunately, this is a global trend, food prices rise. This is the case everywhere. And, of course, bearing in mind that Russia is part of the global economy, it's reflected upon us as well, " President Putin said.

According to him, there are many reasons for what is happening, including the printing of money in the main issuing countries, the consequences of COVID-19, the reduction in production, jobs and etc.
