DUBAI, March 26. /TASS/. At least 37 Palestinians were killed in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, the Qatar-based Al Jazeera television reported citing Gaza’s mass media department.
The death toll continued to grow as Israel intensified its air strikes on the entire territory of the enclave. After resuming its bombing, the Israeli military also launched ground operations in eastern districts of the southern city of Rafah and northern suburbs of Gaza City.
In a separate development, Iran’s Tasnim news agency said at least eight Palestinians were killed in an Israeli air strike on northern Gaza.
The massive air strikes targeted residential buildings in the northern city of Jabaliya. At least five of the victims were children.
On March 18, the Israeli army resumed military operations in Gaza, launching massive strikes on the enclave. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office justified the move by the radical Palestinian Hamas movement’s rejection of proposals made during talks with intermediaries and US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff. It also stated that the goal of the operation in the Gaza Strip is to free all hostages. The radicals blamed Israel and the United States for the resumption of hostilities.
