Israel carries out another series of strikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon

This was the second series of strikes on Lebanon since the beginning of the day

TEL AVIV, March 22. /TASS/. The Israeli military launched another series of strikes on facilities belonging to the Hezbollah Shia movement in Lebanon, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.

"A short while ago, the IDF struck Hezbollah command centers, infrastructure sites, terrorists, rocket launchers, and a weapons storage facility throughout Lebanon. These strikes were conducted alongside the strikes that were carried out earlier today," the statement reads.

This was the second series of strikes on Lebanon since the beginning of the day. According to the IDF, dozens of Hezbollah’s rocket launchers and a command center in Lebanon were struck in the first wave.

According to Israel, the strikes came in response to an attack from Lebanon. The IDF said in the morning that three projectiles fired from Lebanese territory towards the Israeli town of Metula had been intercepted. This was the first attack on northern Israel since November 2024, when an agreement was reached on a ceasefire on the Lebanon-Israel border.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanuahu’s office blamed the attack on the Lebanese government and said that the army would have to respond by striking "terrorist targets." Hezbollah’s leadership denied any involvement in the Metula incident, reiterating commitment to the ceasefire agreement.
