BANGKOK, March 21. /TASS/. As many as six people, including a Russian citizen, have gone missing during a hiking trip in Valencia, Negros Oriental, the Philippine News Agency reported.
Police stated the hikers, a 38-year-old Russian, Anton Chernov, a British national, a Canadian, and three German nationals, left for a hiking trip to Mount Talinis, located southwest of Valencia, a town in the Negros Oriental province, and went missing. Local authorities dispatched a team to search for the hikers and rescue them.
According to initial police reports, the group embarked on a one-day hike early on Wednesday without carrying equipment for an extended stay in the mountainous terrain.
