Zelensky reiterates he won’t participate in talks with US in Saudi Arabia

He announced that Ukraine will be represented by a team including his chief of staff Andrey Yermak, deputy chief of staff Pavel Palisa, Foreign Minister Andrey Sibiga and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov

MOSCOW, March 8. /TASS/. Vladimir Zelensky said he won’t take part in a meeting with US officials in Saudi Arabia scheduled for March 11.

He announced that Ukraine will be represented by a team including his chief of staff Andrey Yermak, deputy chief of staff Pavel Palisa, Foreign Minister Andrey Sibiga and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

"I will start next week with a visit to Saudi Arabia," Zelensky wrote on X. "Ukrainian diplomatic and military representatives will stay for a meeting on Tuesday with a US team. The Ukrainian team will include Andrey Yermak, Andrey Sibiga, Rustem Umerov and Pavel Palisa."

In Saudi Arabia, Zelensky is scheduled to hold talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.

According to US Special Envoy Steve Whitkoff, the aim of the meeting in Saudi Arabia is to discuss issues related to the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. On March 7, US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz said the US team will include US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and himself.
