WASHINGTON, February 26. /TASS/. The US is "very close to the finish line" in concluding the deal on Ukrainian mineral resources but this document might not be signed during Vladimir Zelensky’s upcoming visit to Washington, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters.

"The critical minerals deal and the rare earths deal, as President Trump said, is absolutely pivotal. We are very close to the finish line in getting that deal done," the White House spokeswoman said. "And the president said yesterday he’ll welcome Zelensky to the White House to sign it or to visit, if that’s what Zelensky wants to do," she added.

The White House official confirmed that Zelensky’s visit to Washington is slated for February 28 and noted that she will check with the National Security Council for updated information.
