UAE president, Russian first deputy PM discuss development of bilateral ties

The sides also exchanged views on issues "of mutual interest."

DUVAI, February 16. /TASS/. President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with visiting Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Maturov, the WAM news agency said, citing a press statement from the UAE presidential office.

According to the press statement, the sides discussed "ways of development of bilateral relations between the UAE and Russia in the interests of both countries and for the benefit of their people as part of the strategic partnership between the two states."

The sides also exchanged views on issues "of mutual interest."

Manturov conveyed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s greetings and "wishes of further development of the country" to the UAE president, who, in turn, asked the visiting Russian first deputy prime minister to convey his greetings to the Russian leader.

A Russian delegation led by the first deputy prime minister arrived in the UAE on February 15 to take part in the IDEX 2025 international conference and defense exhibition. Manturov’s program includes a series of meeting with senior UAE officials. On Saturday, he met with UAE Vice President Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
