Israeli attacks kill 12 people in Gaza in past two days — enclave’s Health Ministry

Over 40 people suffered injuries in the past 48 hours, the enclave’s Health Ministry said in a statement

CAIRO, January 1. /TASS/. At least 12 people were killed and over 40 suffered injuries in Israeli operations in the Gaza Strip in the past 48 hours, the enclave’s Health Ministry said in a statement.

"Israeli bombardment killed 12 people and left another 41 injured in the past two days," the statement reads.

According to the ministry, a total of 45,553 Palestinians have been killed and 108,379 suffered injuries in Gaza since October 2023.

Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7, 2023, when Hamas militants staged a surprise attack on Israeli territory from Gaza, killing residents of Israeli border settlements and taking hostages. In response, Israel launched a military operation in the Palestinian enclave to destroy Hamas military and political wings and free all hostages. Hostilities in Gaza continue to this day. Clashes are also taking place in the West Bank.
