Poland may scale back military aid to Ukraine amid dwindling resources — prime minister

Donald Tusk announced that in January, Ukraine would receive a 46th aid package, without specifying what kind of weapons it would include

MOSCOW, December 17. /TASS/. Poland cannot continue to provide Ukraine with military aid at the same rate as it has been, as protecting its own eastern border is now Warsaw’s top priority, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said after talks with Vladimir Zelensky in Lvov.

"Right now, we have fewer capabilities to help Ukraine than those who joined the aid parade after us. […] When we make decisions on allocating new aid packages, we must always remember that we must protect our very long border with Belarus and rather long border with Russia," Tusk said during a press conference, as broadcast by the TVP Info TV channel.

In addition, the Polish Prime Minister announced that in January, Ukraine would receive a 46th aid package, without specifying what kind of weapons it would include. Tusk also mentioned the completion of formalities on shipment of the 45th weapons transfer worth about 100 million euros, which was announced earlier in July. Warsaw also plans to discuss equipping additional Ukrainian brigades with its partners in Northern Europe,

Overall, according to the Polish authorities, Poland’s aid for Ukraine since February, 2022, is estimated at about $3.23 billion.
