MOSCOW, December 9. /TASS/. Vladimir Zelensky entered his meeting with US President-elect Donald Trump in Paris with the highest of hopes, thinking he could score a big win, but he came out of it looking like a "punk," in more ways than one, a Ukrainian opposition lawmaker said.
Alexander Dubinsky, a member of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada, or parliament, highlighted comments made by Trump’s advisor Roger Stone to the New York Post where he criticized Zelensky for showing up to the meeting with Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron dressed in a sweater. "On the international stage, Zelensky was marked for coming to an official meeting dressed like a street punk. Since international politics isn’t about social media posts or petty drama, but about strategy, the whole circus came crashing down. After Trump’s team slammed Zelensky’s inappropriate attire, he’ll either need to start wearing a suit or continue to be looked at as a street rat," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
"Did you expect them to give you a piece of cake at the meeting in Paris? Did you really think anyone in Washington would want to meet with some hobo, who, after five years in office, still can't speak English? Zelensky, Yermak, and their entire gang are a lost cause, whose only use to the Trump team would be as a symbol of incompetence," Dubinsky added.
Zelensky met with Macron and Trump on Saturday. On Sunday, Trump said that Ukraine is ready to sign a conflict settlement agreement with Russia and called for an immediate ceasefire and peace talks. Zelensky, however, rejected Trump’s call.
