Hungary’s top diplomat talks Ukraine peace with Trump’s pick for security adviser

According to Peter Szijjarto, in America, "Democrats are pro-war, Republicans support peace"

BUDAPEST, December 5. /TASS/. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has discussed ways out of the Ukraine conflict with Michael Waltz, whom US President-elect Donald Trump has tapped to be his national security adviser, at a meeting in Washington.

Hungary’s top diplomat announced this in an interview with M1 television as he said that Waltz, too, was dedicated to a diplomatic resolution on Ukraine.

According to Szijjarto, in America, "Democrats are pro-war, Republicans support peace." "Therefore, we discussed peace as an important goal," he stressed. "What I took away from my conversation with Mike Waltz was that we both speak the language of peace and that America also clearly sees the risks of escalation [in Ukraine]," the Hungarian foreign minister said.

"US Republicans and we Hungarian patriots think alike, and we see eye to eye on the most important things globally and in global politics," he added. "We want to base our politics on common sense. Family [values] are extremely important to us, and we all speak the language of peace," Szijjarto concluded.
