BUDAPEST, December 4. /TASS/. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto called recent NATO initiatives aimed at prolonging the conflict in Ukraine extremely dangerous. The foreign minister, who is participating in a meeting with his counterparts from NATO member states in Brussels, believes that they want Ukraine to fight until the very last young soldier.

"Brutal proposals were made during yesterday's meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council. It seems like some leaders now want Ukraine to fight not until the very last soldier, but until the very last young soldier. The fact that NATO leaders insist on lowering the recruitment age [in Ukraine] is both bewildering and extremely dangerous. Instead of lowering the recruitment age, sending arms and providing training [to Ukrainian troops], we must talk about peace, a ceasefire, and peace talks," Szijjarto said on social media.

The minister noted that the meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels will continue on Wednesday.
