French Foreign Ministry refuses to disclose number of SCALP missiles shipped to Ukraine

Ministry Spokesman Christophe Lemoine also avoided answering if Paris supports strikes with these missiles on Russian territory, only saying that the missiles were shipped to Ukraine, and Ukraine

PARIS, November 20. /TASS/. French Foreign Ministry Spokesman Christophe Lemoine refused to disclose the amount of SCALP long-range missiles shipped to Kiev. He was asked this question during the interview with the LCI TV channel.

"Obviously, we know the number of SCALP missiles we shipped to the Ukrainians. I cannot tell you the exact number now, but there were shipments," he said.

The spokesman also avoided answering if Paris supports strikes with these missiles on Russian territory, only saying that the missiles were shipped to Ukraine, and Ukraine "has a right for self-defense."

In March 2024, the French Defense Ministry published the report about the weapons, shipped to Kiev, and this number was not named in that report. On November 19, Le Monde reported citing its sources that France has already shipped 10 out of 40 promised SCALP missiles. According to the source, the number of missiles that Paris could ship to Ukraine is limited, and it discusses the shipment of these missiles, known as Storm Shadow in the UK, with London.
