MOSCOW, December 29. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is exterminating the population of his own country under the slogan of revival of the nation and new bill on mobilization will be the next stage of this process, Viktor Medvedchuk, the former leader of the now-banned-in-Ukraine Opposition Platform-For Life party, has warned.
"Time is ripe for Ukrainians to wake up from the stupefaction with which Zelensky has enveloped the country, and to realize that today they are not only being robbed, but also killed and exterminated under the slogans of the nation’s revival. The current regime has created a criminal scheme of murder. The more they kill, the more money they make. After all, they look at ordinary people as nothing else than free fertilizer for the land they have already sold," he wrote in his column on the Smotrim.ru website.
Medvedchuk, who now leads the Other Ukraine movement, says that "Ukrainian society is stunned by the mobilization bill submitted by the Cabinet to parliament," but "the problem is whether there are material and human resources to continue combat operations."
"The Zelensky clique has never counted on Ukraine’s own resources in the military conflict at all. It has never made a secret of this. It counted on endlessly drawing foreign resources and thus defeating Russia. From the point of view of common sense this is nonsense, but this is exactly what the West has promised Ukraine all along. Moreover, Ukraine's financing has long exceeded the $200 billion, which in itself is unprecedented in history. All this has created the following military-economic scheme: the West gives money and weapons, and Ukraine gives soldiers. In this way they hoped to beat Russia. This is exactly the deal Zelensky went for when he rejected peace talks. That is, he knowingly sold Ukrainian citizens as cannon fodder in order to benefit from the war with Russia," Medvedchuk emphasized.
Ukraine's defeat began "not when the offensive failed, but when Zelensky made up his mind to rely on Western support and sacrificed Ukrainians to a bloody scheme of making money on war."
"But the question remains if ordinary Ukrainians have gotten richer from these schemes. Have they gotten anything from the hundreds of billions of dollars that are involved in this international scam? As long as they have seen nothing but losses and suffering. Why should anyone think they will ever benefit in some way?" Medvedchuk concluded.
Problems with mobilization in Ukraine
The Ukrainian authorities have encountered numerous difficulties with army recruitment. On December 25, a bill on new mobilization rules was submitted to parliament. Among the main proposed measures are restrictions on rights for failure to appear at the military enlistment office, including a freeze on bank accounts, reduction of the age of those subject to mobilization from 27 to 25 years old and the possibility to send summonses electronically. Ukrainians who fail to appear at the military recruitment offices when summoned will be banned from traveling abroad and from carrying out transactions with movable and immovable property. In addition, they will be prohibited from driving their own vehicles and obtaining a driver's license and denied loans and the payment of benefits and allowances will be suspended.
Ukraine’s aggressive mobilization campaign has already sparked numerous scandals. The media regularly publish stories of military mobilization officers using force against citizens when handing out conscription orders, or conscripting people unfit for service for health reasons, as well as many instances of lawmakers and civil servants abusing their authority to surreptitiously secrete their conscription age sons to locations abroad, out of reach of Kiev’s mobilization squads.
Recently, in the context of aggravated problems with recruitment military enlistment offices have been actively catching men in public places.
