South Korea to resume visa-free entry from Russia on April 1

Russian nationals are allowed to enter South Korea for no more than 60 consecutive days or less than 90 days within 180 days

SEOUL, March 23. /TASS/. South Korea will resume visa-free entry for nationals from 46 countries and regions, including Russia, from April 1, according to a statement posted on the Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) on Wednesday.

"As the temporary suspension of the visa-free entry of nationals of 46 countries/regions will be lifted, those nationals are eligible for short-term visa-free entry from April 1st, 2022 (KST)," the statement says.

Russian nationals are allowed to enter South Korea for no more than 60 consecutive days or less than 90 days within 180 days.

Foreigners can apply to the Korea Electronic Travel Authorization from March 30. The authority explains that applicants should register on the K-ETA website at least 24 hours prior to boarding their flight or voyage. Quarantine restrictions remain in place, including the requirement to present a negative coronavirus test. Those vaccinated with the jabs approved by South Korea or the World Health Organization (WHO) are exempt from quarantine.

Migration authorities explain that K-ETA approval does not guarantee entry to the country, because a Korea Immigration Service officer at the port of entry will have the final say. The application fee is 10,000 Korean won per person and K-ETA approval will be valid for multiple trips for two years.
