Russians’ trust in Putin exceeds 72% — poll

The Russian government’s performance is approved by 44.6% of respondents, while 44.1% approve of the work of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin

MOSCOW, October 9. /TASS/. The level of trust among Russians in President Vladimir Putin stands at 72.5%, according to a survey conducted by the All-Russian Center for Public Opinion Research (VTsIOM) from September 28 to October 4 among 1,600 adult Russians.

"When asked about trust in Putin, 72.5% of survey participants answered positively, while the level of approval for the president’s activities stands at 68.6%," the pollster noted in its materials.

The Russian government’s performance is approved by 44.6% of respondents, while 44.1% approve of the work of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Trust in Mishustin stands at 54.1%.

Respondents also expressed their attitudes toward the leaders of parliamentary parties. Trust in Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov stands at 36.7%, A Just Russia leader Sergey Mironov at 26.7%, Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) leader Leonid Slutsky at 22.7%, and New People party chairman Alexey Nechayev at 13.7%.

Support for United Russia stands at 31.9%, the Communist Party at 18.8%, the LDPR at 9.3%, A Just Russia at 4.6%, and New People at 11.6%.
