Two-thirds of Russians dissatisfied with 2024, survey reveals

Russians most often attribute their negative emotions regarding the past year to economic hardships and rising prices, while citing family events as positive highlights

MOSCOW, December 23. /TASS/. Two-thirds of Russians report being dissatisfied with the year 2024.

Overall, Russian citizens have started to save more money, experienced greater anxiety, and demonstrated a heightened focus on their health this year, according to data from the Weber sociological agency, obtained by TASS.

"Two-thirds of respondents admit to being dissatisfied with 2024. Furthermore, 70% of Russian citizens are not planning to start a new life on January 1st," the survey results reveal.

Russians most often attribute their negative emotions regarding the past year to economic hardships and rising prices, while citing family events as positive highlights.

A quarter of those surveyed report adopting new habits in 2024. Russians admit that they have started saving more money (18%), have become more anxious (16%), and more attentive to their health and maintaining an active lifestyle (15%).

Additionally, 22% of respondents shared that they learned new words this year, including: kvadrober, Oreshnik, skuf, cashback, stagflation, and vibe.

The nationwide online survey was conducted on December 10-11 and polled 1,200 individuals.
