ASTANA, February 12. /TASS/. The US presidential election cannot influence Russia's nuclear doctrine, which, among other things, ensures the security of neighboring countries, Sergey Shoigu, the secretary of Russia’s Security Council, stated during his working visit to Kazakhstan.
"As for security, how could the election of any president in the United States affect our nuclear doctrine? It cannot. We have consistently provided security for our allies and neighbors, including Kazakhstan and Belarus, under a common umbrella. This security measure is outlined in all relevant documents. We have always made this clear and have never concealed it," he said in response to a question from TASS.
Shoigu also emphasized that relations between Russia and Kazakhstan are not affected by US elections, as they are rooted in a deep historical connection. "We share a common history, a common lifestyle, and a common border - this is the longest overland border in the world, extending over 7,000 kilometers," he added.
