MINSK, February 11. /TASS/. The set of measures designed to implement the Minsk agreements, known as Minsk-2, represents a concrete and realistic document with clearly defined objectives from both legal and diplomatic perspectives, stated Boris Gryzlov, Russia’s ambassador to Belarus, in an interview with TASS.
Gryzlov emphasized the importance of drawing a distinct line between the Minsk agreements and the Package of Measures, on one side, and the political will and intentions of the parties involved to fulfil the provisions, on the other.
"From a legal and diplomatic standpoint, Minsk-2 was a concrete and realistic document with clearly defined goals. At that time, it served as the only effective tool for resolving the conflict and achieving lasting peace. Its wording considered the interests of all parties and was meticulously calibrated and balanced in accordance with international law. I would like to remind you that the Package of Measures was approved by a UN Security Council resolution, making it binding for Kiev, the DPR, and the LPR," he explained.
February 12 marks the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Package of Measures for the implementation of the Minsk Agreements, a step-by-step plan aimed at resolving the armed conflict in Donbass, also known as Minsk-2.
