Vietnam's leadership invited to Victory Day festivities in Moscow — top Russian diplomat

MOSCOW, February 11. /TASS/. Russia expects representatives of Vietnam's leadership to attend May 9 festivities in Moscow on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated.

"We expect representatives of Vietnam's leadership to attend Moscow for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War," the top Russian diplomat said at the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Vietnam.

"We honor the memory of Vietnamese volunteers who engaged in the Battle of Moscow in 1941-1942," he said. "The opening of a monument in their honor last August is vivid evidence of this," Lavrov added.
